PRESS RELEASE – issued October 19, 2020
Tuesday, October 20 at 9:30am at the Granite Curling Club, Cary Tarasoff will present information on the serious pandemic plight of all not for profit curling clubs in Saskatoon. This is an urgent plea to help save our clubs from closing. I have secured space inside the Granite Curling Club facility to hold this press conference but no political support for me as a mayoral candidate should be inferred from this.
I will lay out the nature of the critical situation as well as many possible solutions that I know of. After which I ask the curling managers to present to you how they need urgent help to save jobs and their clubs as a whole. Curling is a winter pastime for many thousands of Saskatoon citizens and a good social service for our city. I hope other candidates will also see this plight and that they then find their own ways to propose urgent help. Proper social distancing has been planned for at this venue and can be further adjusted as requested.
