Cary Tarasoff

AGRICULTURAL ROOTS

Born in Saskatoon and raised on a grain farm, Cary learned the value of hard work and community from an early age. After graduating from Delisle Composite High School, he attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning a B.Sc in Physical Geography in 1987.

This city is so out of touch with the average resident and has completely lost its sense of community. Decisions are being made in the absence of community consultations and common sense.

SERVICE TO COUNTRY

Cary’s commitment to service led him to join the Naval Reserve in 1984 and later the regular Air Force in 1985. He held numerous leadership roles, including Nuclear Biological Chemical Defence Officer at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake.

His military career, marked by extensive travel and living in six provinces, was unfortunately cut short due to training-related injuries, leading to a medical release in 1990.

ENGINEERING & DEVELOPMENT EXPERTISE

Transitioning to civilian life, Cary moved to Edmonton and graduated with honours from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Architectural program. For over two decades, he has been a cornerstone in the fields of mining, construction, and development planning. He has worked on key infrastructure projects for various First Nations and other major companies, gaining extensive experience in civil works, including road design and water systems.

As a trained professional in chemical safety, I am shocked and angered by the Administration's knowing endangerment of the lives of its residents in the North Industrial area.

The construction of the Meewasin Trail and Chief Mistawasis Bridge, which run through a dangerous chemical buffer, was knowingly approved by Council in direct violation of its own zoning bylaws.

It now endangers all Saskatonians who use this area for work or recreation on a daily basis.

FAMILY & COMMUNITY

In 1992, Cary married Sherry, and together they have raised two sons in Saskatoon. The family has lived in different parts of Western Canada, running their own business along the way, before settling back in Saskatoon in 1999. Cary has always been deeply rooted in his community.
