Highlights of City Council – January 2021

Below are some of the “highlights” by City Council in January.

No Emergency Air Shut Off Switches for Chemical Buffer Properties

There are no emergency air shut off switches for chemical buffer properties sold by the City of Saskatoon but somehow Mayor Clark is now concerned about building code issues around carbon monoxide detection. Time that the Mayor and Council look at things consistently, even about things they are trying to hide from.

Many Years of Deferral by City Council on Curling Club Partnership

After many years of deferral by the City and Council, now Troy Davies thinks that City Administration should finally talk to curling rinks. He puts forward this motion just as the City of Saskatoon greatly increased the property tax for all the curling rinks in Saskatoon which will make their life even harder.

No Push for the Province to Legislate Conversion Therapy

Council should be pushing the province to write significant legislation about conversion therapy. This bylaw is poorly conceived regardless if it was well meaning.
