We need smart decisions, not grand designs

Charlie Clark campaigned that he is a caring and inclusive leader focused on Indigenous issues. Yet as Mayor, he has closed the vibrant farmers market and now ignores that the City is poised to abandon the 2015 Rec and Parks Master Plan with 1.06 million dollars to upgrade Victoria Park into a large festival site for over 10,000 people. Instead, the Mayor wants to spend 12 million dollars on a site that will barely fit 7,500 people, which is now outside of Riversdale. What happened to “leave no one behind“? Charlie Clark, finally stand up and show real caring for the poorer multicultural Riversdale area or acknowledge your failure.

If Plans and Budgets are developed to indicate intent, then Victoria Park has been the festival site of choice by the City since 2015. See for yourself below. If Victoria Park is now not the choice, what is the point of Plans and Budgets?
